These grips go on well with a little isopropyl alcohol splashed inside them and overnight and well adhered to the bar. The ribbing offers good grip and the end caps do as well a job as they can of protecting pinkies.

My daughter loves the bike but wasn't happy with the boy's colours! Swapped over for some neon pink grips and peddles, both of which do what you would expect them to.
