In 2015 we became the only kids bike manufacturer ever to win the coveted Eurobike Gold award with our first 20" belt drive. Seven years (and four revisions) later, we still stand alone and so does our Belter 20. The winning formula? Innovation, performance, practicality, comfort and control.
And with good reason too; the rides are getting longer, the routes more demanding and the everyday need to be tearing round the neighbourhood, off the charts.

My daughter previously had the Belter 14 model and could swiftly get used to, ride and enjoy the Belter 20! The bike handles well and the belt drive train & gears work smoothely

Switched from seeker 16 to 20 for my 7 years old son. Gears are really cool feature. Overall amazing bikes for kids especially: weight of the bike and riding position. Seeker 16 intensively used for 3+ years with no issues. Both my kids learned on ER bikes. Quick, tracked delivery and very friendly staff. 5⭐ every time.

Our neighbours kids and ours have 4 early riders in total. We/they love it.
But, there is a but.
Our neighbour bought the Belter 20, and their big 7 year old boy could’t shift gears. Going down in the gears. He had to stop, and use two hands.
We were in doubt about buying the Belter20 and asked the support.
They replied with this answer:
Early Rider® EU
Hi there, to be honest we sell a large number of Belter 20 bikes and the number of problems we have is proportionately very small. The vast majority of riders don't have a problem using the shifters, unfortunately those with a problem who write a review make it sound like a bigger problem than it is!
Ok, we ordered it, and wrote as a comment if they could check/loosen the spring in the gearshifter. I know - a little optimistic.
We got the bike. Lovely bike!
But… The gearshifter IS way too hard. Our 7 year old boy has to stop, and use two hands to shift to lower gears.
And no answer on our request to check it.
So now we might also make it sound like a bigger problem than it is - but a problem endeed.
Greeting from Denmark
Thomas Balslev Hansen

The bike is great - as the two smaller versions have been. Unfortunately the grip shifter is inoperable for the force any five or six year old child could produce to change gear with one hand. This is a total misconstruction and I sure early rider knows about it but is just not caring enough to solve this problem.

My son is missing chromosomes. He began walking at 5. After one year of balance bike, he succeed pedals biking thanks to this belter 20. He his 10 years old but weight 28kg . He is not strong at all. The lightweight of early bikes helps him a lot !!! No problems with sharped pedals as sometimes read.

My daughter is a small 7 year old. She had no problems with the size of the bike but can easily change the gears, I know others have reported that this has been an issue for them. However no signs of this. She loves the bike and has been zooming around on it for about a month now. The bike is well made and a quality investment for anyone concerned about the price. We’ve had Early Rider bikes for both our kids and have passed them down as they get older. We’ve looked after them but the bikes are so well constructed they almost take care of themselves.

I bought the bike for my 6 year old son. The bike was quickly assembled and the quality of the materials is very high.
the comments from other reviews regarding the force required to shift the gears are correct. but this has more to do with the strength in a 6 year old's hand. the gears do not tighten more than on any other bicycle. After some practice he has already mastered it. He absolutely loves it and wants to go cycling every day from early in the morning. his self-confidence has been boosted by the speed he can suddenly reach compared to his 16" :-)
the gear ratios are perfect for the city with some steeper bridges and hills (7-8% max)
We haven't had the bike for long, but so far we are very satisfied. small point of criticism: the included reflectors cannot be mounted due to the thickness of the frame, or I haven't found how yet. And the price... the bike is very expensive, and I personally think a bit to expensive. But on the other hand, the bicycle will survive and make many children happy. And i’m happy to pay for that.
