Seeker 14

Slightly skeptical on whether or not I should spend $700+ on a toddler bike but after getting it I’m actually impressed. This bike is built with quality components and well engineered and constructed. My 2-1/2 year old doesn’t touch his strider anymore and is pedaling like the big kids. Still working on learning the hand braking but free hub is the way to go if you want your toddler advancing to a mountain bike more smoothly.

I was struggling to find the perfect bike for my son to start learning biking after being on a 12" balance bike with allready the same style mountain bike hydraulic disk brake and fat wheels.
And then, I met Early Rider's Seeker 14 !
I just got my son's Seeker 14, and it's awesome!
He's already riding it like a pro ;-)
The geometry is perfect for a little boy who’s 95 cm tall with small hands: the handlebar diameter is just right, the brake levers are perfectly close together (I adjusted them as close as possible), and the minimal pressure needed to operate them is ideal!

We ordered this bike for my daughter who is 2 years and 10 months old. We went back and forth on brands, but ultimately decided to give this one a shot; and I’m glad we did! She’s exactly 3 ft tall and just met the minimum recommended for the 14. With the seat in the lowest position, she’s a perfect fit. I was astonished at how well balanced she was and how quickly she took to the bike! The hydraulic disc brakes are an asset as well because she has PLENTY of stopping power without needing to squeeze the hand brake too hard. The bike has been an everyday use item in our house ever since. We’ll be riding this until she outgrows it!

My son has had this bike for 1year and 9month now so I feel like I can give an honest review. In short: This bike rocks!

He is on the short side, 25th centile, but could size wise have moved in to this bike quite a few months before his 3rd birthday (I learned that when he finally got it and could try it). It is certainly for an EARLY rider. It did however rob me of the excitement to get to run behind him and holding him up and see him learn to cycle though. He'd had a decent balance bike for a year before but had never tried a pedal bike. But he cycled all on his own when I first let go of him only few yards away on our first outing. My jaw dropped! The key, I can only praise the light weight and the geometry making the bike manageable for a tiny person giving them confidence to actually cycle. Within a week I had to be on two wheels myself to keep up with him. The rest is history. He has tried several of his friends bikes, but I can say hands down that this bike enables him to climb steeper hills and maneuver much better with control. Exactly what you need when you learn to cycle! Even if your kid could just fit the 16" one I'd still recommend the 14" one to learn to pedal the easiest. Where he has to give up with heavier bikes he can keep going with this one. The brakes work great for tiny hands. He did not have a brake on his balance bike but seeing he could easily control the brakes gave me confidence to quickly let him cycle more independently.

We were unsure of weather to go with the Belter or the Seeker, but my advice now for getting the Seeker having lived with it is 3 fold:
1, It comes with a quick release saddle clamp, the amount of times you have to adjust the saddle when they are at this age is gobsmacking. Experimenting to find what saddle height that works for them is also essential when they are at this early stage. No tools you'll forget to bring needed here.
2, The tires on the Seeker grips a lot better when your child turns off the paved path and down the wet grassy embankment to explore. Trust me, they will do it! It also enables them to ride better on rougher paths. When they are this age you are constantly looking for places you can go cycle where they are sheltered from other traffic and unpaved paths are brilliant for that!
3, Boy does the Seeker look good! It really looks like a tiny version of the real deal (which it is) with its chunky knobbly tires. It turns heads and gets compliments everywhere you go from all ages. To hear from the older kids what a cool bike you have is a great confidence boost.

The belt drive has been perfect. No mess and maintenance free. The great thing is the bike can just get chucked in the car boot with no worry. That's basically where it has ended up living. The light weight is also helping with that. Its easy to carry. And having the bike with you all the time gets you riding way more often. The next step will be a bike with gears, but I will miss the worry-free belt drive.

Despite heavy and rough use this bike has needed zero maintenance. Apart from pumping the tires, adjusting the saddle height and I think I have turned the brake cable adjustments once after setting the bike up. It has a few scuffs and scratches but still so much life in it! If you don't want to pay the full price for a brand new one, I wouldn't hesitate to get a used one. But they too fetch a pretty penny on the used market. Worth keeping in mind when looking at the price of a new one.

We have extended the life of our 14" bike by getting the saddle for the 16" Belter/Seeker. The size table on the website is showing a 10cm adjustment range of the saddle height for the 14" models. This is incorrect as of May 2025. It is only 8cm for real (when accounting for the saddle post angle). The 16" saddle gives you slightly more than 4cm extra to play with and is a cheap way to extend the bikes life for a short while if you need to before upsizing.

Even if we were to give the bike away soon when he has grown out of it, the cost/hour of endless joy and freedom this bike has provided is very low compared to the price of many other things he could have been doing instead. Most of his nursery friends can't cycle yet as they have given up wrestling with their heavy bikes. The ones that can cycle now all have bikes of the lighter variety. Meanwhile our son is climbing steep hills and confidently and controlled going down blue and red trails on this Seeker 14. As I said: This bike rocks!

My son used a balance bike until he became 3 and then we go this one. He was a little bit too small to use the Early Rider so we kept both of them. One day I hid the balance bike and he decided to use the Early Rider. And it was amazing. He just went outside and started riding immediately. Easiest transition ever. I love the light weight, the build quality and the belt. Great bike!

My son really enjoy this bike, reduced weight compared his old bike make the ride way more easy.

The bike is awesome, my kid loves it. Of course it takes a bit time to master all the skills being 2.7yo, but we are getting there thanks to owning Early Rider Big Foot earlier. Totally recommend this product!

Hello guys,

my 3 years old daughter switched from push bike to Seeker 14 and learned to pedal in one hour. Many positives on the bike:

- First proof of quality was the packaging. Everything was protected in package really well
- Bike was set up perfectly (belt, brakes, etc.)
- Really easy to ride and very responsive
- No worries about fat tires, rolling resistance is not bigger, my daughter keep up with boys in same age
- Gear ratio is set up for less pedalling frequency compared to Woom 2 - means little bit harder to launch but quicker on straights

There is one negative, at least for us:

- Pedals are small and not grippy. Big problem from beginning to pedal since daughters feet instantly fell of the pedals, she was really upset. But this is maybe same like on all premium bikes - you buy your own pedals. So I purchased Chromag Radar and all solved, brilliant pedals.

All in all I recommend this bike and give it 9 out of 10 only due to pedals.

My daughter started learning on this at 3 years of age after her balance bike! I would never have dreamed of spending this sort of money on my sons before but having seen the difference in quality I would do it again now in a heart beat.
It’s brilliant. Sturdy. She absolutely loves it and I love that it allows for your own little upgrades too!

Great to get my son started with quality gear. Seems silly to spend this money on a kids bike but would do it again to be honest.

The Seeker 14 is the PERFECT size up from the Early rider Balance bike! Worth the Investment! The balance and geometry on the bike fit my 2 year old Daughter Wonderfully, breaks are good size for them tiny fingers! First night my we had the bike my daughter rode down the driveway on her own! The bike balances and is not tippy.

My 3 year old son's been on a balance bike since he could walk an we figured it was about time to pedal. We got a 12" bike of an other manufacturer around which unfortunately did not fit due to a too high seat position.
So, when to buy a new bike, the difference of fun in riding a valuable bike can make, I looked for such and found EarlyRider in no time.
It turned out my boy just hit the min. leg length required for the belter/seeker 14. For the black saddle, the pedals and dirt track riding options we choose the seeker.
With his balance bike experience he managed to start and pedal alone within one weekend. The use of the handbrakes where no trouble at all (to avoid stoppies you might want so reset the front brake to lower force). With some practice we lifted the seat position so he can pedal more effective and after 10 days went to our local pump track the first time.

Pro: fast delivery, easy assembly, nice mini platform pedals, riding dirt tracks for extra fun, brake levers adjustable for small hands
Con: it might seem pricy but you truly get what you pay.

Absolutely fantastic bit of kit, my 4 year old has been on a balance bike since he was around 2 years old and mastered it to the point he didn't want to leave it (Couldn't understand why he needed pedals). We tried some cheaper bikes and he never took to them, never felt solid on it and ditched them within minutes.

I read good things about the seeker 14 and got hold of one. Within an hour he's away, feels at one with the bike and went full send. Super impressed, the balance of the bike and the light weight nature of it make it a perfect and has to be considered as the only option for first riders.

He doesn't want to put it down now and I couldn't be happier so thank you for making such a good range of bikes, when my son outgrows the 14 I'll be putting him up a size for sure. 👍🏼💪🏼
