Die ganze Geschichte

Fortschritt vom ersten Moment an

Best Purchase Ever

All 3 of my kids have gotten an incredible amount of use out of this bike. From just starting out to becoming absolute rippers ready for pedals.

Best best best bike to buy for 2 year olds!

The geometry is perfect! Toddlers really learn how to balance a bicycle and enjoy their time on two wheels! The quality of everything on this balance bike is amazing and what you would expect on a high end bike for adults. Definitely a great investment for the future of the toddler who will enjoy his riding so much!

BEST BALANCE BIKE OPTION *PLEASE READ*

My 2 year old son started out on another brand of balance bike that had foam tires, and he quickly burned through the tread in the matter of a couple months. We have a mountain bike trail behind our house, and he was slipping and sliding all over the place. Started doing some research and landed on the Big Foot 12. I wish I had known to buy this before I spent the money on the first bike. This bike is SOLID and the pneumatic tires are a game changer. After months of riding, there is no sign of wear on these tires, and we ride just about every day.

Now comes the real reason I came back here to leave this review. I leaned the bike up against the front of my wife's car and forgot about it. She started to drive off, and ran over the bike. The handlebars were bent and destroyed making them completely unusable. On our way home, we contacted Early Rider through their website (on a Sunday afternoon) and asked if we can order replacement parts. They responded to me that very same day and began the process. I paid a very reasonable price for the parts and shipping, and we had the parts in hand on WEDNESDAY. I swapped the handlebars and installed the new grips, and my boy was back in action that afternoon. I can't thank this company enough for their prompt response and parts availability. Don't shop at big box stores. Buy from reputable companies who you can reach out to when in need.

Great quality and amazing looking bike!

Amazing bike! My daughter loves it. It looks like a lot of detail went into making a good solid balance bike that's going to be nice to ride.

The only problem with the bike my daughter got is that the person who assembled it at early rider wasn't very careful and precise enough. Out of the box bike came with a deep paint scratch on fork and the wheels are very wobbly especially the back one.

But I guess wheels can be easily balanced and the bike will get beat up during the riding anyway so this are only minor problems. This is the reason I give it 4 stars, everything else is 5 stars!

Love This Bike!

My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves this bike so much and it has without a doubt made her into a certified ripper🤘🏼

it is good some details are missing though.

My son is now 2yrs and rides decently well with it, main issue was actually his size as he already wanted to ride but was just a bit too small.
When he started i changed the rear tire to a schwalbe g-one (woom edition) to bring the saddle down quite a bit, helped him at the beginning to reach the ground, in the meanwhile we switched back to the default vee tires again.

3 things are missing on the bike in my opinion:
1. a soft cover for the stem for protection (i got a neopren cover from ebay)
2. surfboard (woom offers one to screw it on the downtube, great idea in my opinion)
3. remote controlled brake to bring him to stop..

he loves it.

Kiddos first bike!

While initially I was a little worried the bike was more expensive than I wanted to spend on my son's first training bike, when it came and I could see the quality of the bike, the lightness, and how f-n badass it was to look at, I knew it was well worth every penny. Putting it together was a breeze, especially if you've worked on bike before, or really if you've ever tightened a bolt before, lol. My son also picked up one of the included allen keys and started helping tighten the wheels! I couldn't have been more proud! He has yet to get the hang of riding it, but I'm confident with time he will love it! In a land with cheap throw away bikes, this is not one. I will likely save this for future children or pass it around my friend's and family when they have babies ready to ride! What a beautiful product! Couldn't be more happy!

Happy Customer

My son just turned two and upon opening his gift, the early rider big foot 12, i was extremely impressed at the quality of bike and components. It was super easy to assemble just two allen bolts for the front wheel and four allen bolts for the handlebars. Took about five mins and he was off and riding. Cant believe how light it is and he literally shakes with excitement everytime i get it out for him to ride. He has already started to figure out how to use the handbrake. When he outgrows it i plan on keeping it as wall art in the house cause it is such a cool looking bike.

More Joy per Dollar Than Anything You Can Buy for Your Toddler

Exceptional build quality.

Handling inspires confidence in new riders.

The only improvement I can think of is a hydraulic disc rear brake to make it a bit easier to operate for very small, 2 year old hands.

Fantastic starter bike

The bike is lovely and light the slightly wider wheels give good grip and stability.
Our little girl loves going out and has taken to the bike very easily would definitely recommend. The only thing it could do with is a stem cover we made one up!.
Overall very happy, we wish we had brought one sooner for our son.

My Early Rider Journey:

I am a mountain biker and have been, pretty much the sports inception in the early 90s. wow i'm old, now a dad, i wanted to give my son the opportunity to enjoy the sport in the future. I started my son on the early rider wooden Lite model which is was given by a mate. He was too small to fit on it, but looked like he wanted to try, so I hacked the bike by drilling new holes and lowering the fork and chain stay hub positions so lowering the ride height. I also took a profiled cut from the top tube to lower the seat position. see pic (i wouldn't recommend doing this unless your confident you know what your doing) but this enabled my son at 15 months to start trying . I believe getting him on the bike before the recommended 2 years, fundamentally helped him with his confidence and progress much sooner. I think this is something early rider could consider, especially for smaller sized children. The Lite was perfect, with high bar position to help with encouraging the correct body position, some thing so many bikes don't do, He rode that until he was 3 and loved it. Although now a bit creaky (like an old saying ship, which i love) I have now reverb'd it again and passed it on to one of my biking mates who has a 15 month old son, just big enough to fit on it due to the modifications, so it lives on to teach another little one. amazing little bike and well worth the money.

On from that, We moved on to the Big foot 12 this Christmas (2021/22). The quality of this bike is bonkers for a balance bike. Welds are perfect, Richie bar and stem, proper bearings, a decent V break and 2.25 decent tyres with a beak lever to suit small hands. Hats off to Early rider for an amazing job. They have properly thought about this bike and specified decent kit. In addition to the parts, and in my opinion, the most important is the geometry of this frame. The head angle is slaker and the wheel base longer than the wooden Lite, so this promotes stability when riding a bit faster, which is exactly what you want for learning. Bar width is wider and height is perfect for encouraging the correct rider position. All this has transformed and elevated my sons confidence on the bike, which is what riding bikes is all about. Of your confident, your enjoying it and thats the main thing for me. He literally wants to be on it all the time, ether on the local BMX track or in the woods all the time. My view, don't bother looking at any other balance bike. if your child is old enough to fit on it. Its the best on the market. Yes £180.00 probably seems quite a bit for a balance bike compared to others out there, but you get what you pay for.

I have already purchased the belter 14, for when he's big enough to move on.

Top job early rider, an amazing product and made in the UK, who could ask for more.

Great stability and smooth ride

Really lovely frame and low slung geometry coupled with the wide bar and fat tyres which seem to roll smoother/faster than his previous skinny tyres. Great that the rear v brake is up out the way of his ankles.

Our 2.5yr old loves it. Bit pricey but worth it.

For improvement: the rear brake is far too stiff for toddler fingers, but will try upgrade it to an old XTR unless it’s the tight internal cable routing causing extra friction. Also a traditional small saddle on rails would be better for fit adjustment as they grow.

Rompin and stompin!

Awesome little bike that all of my kids love to ride, even my 8 year old. They build little jumps and lines in our back yard and have a ball with it. Frame is perfect size, tires are awesome and rugged, and the brake works wonderfully. Great little investment for my youngest that I am sure will pass on to the next one!

Thanks for an awesome product!

Awesome bike!

We got this bike for our 28 month old after starting on a strider. We absolutely love it and so does our son! We love the big tires, back brake, weight and mechanism on the front which helps to prevent speed wobble. He has improved his biking almost immediately with this bike! It is a great introduction to a brake before a pedal bike! Will be buying more bikes from early rider in the future!

Great bike, great value!

I got this for my very short 4 yo girl. She has been on a hand-me-down balance bike for a while and it was time for an upgrade to a bike with real tires, and a hand brake. The braking came very intuitively, and the ergonomics, and adjustability of the brake made it very easy for a tiny hand to start initiating skids almost immediately. Overall quality of the bike is also very impressive. Would definitely buy one again, but this one will easily make it through several wild children.
